2023 DAP Exhibit @ 1117 Studios & Gallery
Opening Reception | 14 January • Saturday | 5:30 PM - 7 PM
This interactive art gallery exhibit invited the public to doodle and add to the exhibit on the spot. It garnered around 80 individual sticky-note doodles, which were displayed during opening night and through to the end of the exhibit. Young and old sat down to doodle on the 3" x 3" pale yellow squares, on the white 12" x 12" canvases, and on the large hanging canvas with the silhouette of DAP founder Chris Allen.
Two days prior to the opening, DAP participated in Abilene's monthly Artwalk downtown. You can see these photos on the Events page. Chris collected about 30 sticky-note doodles that night. Kids and adults also doodled on a 12" x 12" white canvas.

The Tapestry
Things to Know About The Tapestry
- It is made of 720 individual yellow sticky-note doodles using black ink and is nearly 28 feet long.
- [DAP received 900 doodles and split off for a second, smaller Tapestry.]
- In order to allow you to zoom in on individual contributions, we have created sections of the tapestry.
- Each section is called a Block and each Block has Sheets. Each Sheet has 6 sticky-note doodles.
- The images below show a Block on the left with a slideshow of each Sheet on the right.
- Listed below the slideshow are the names of the individual contributors for the entire Block.
- When at the gallery, start from the Left and move to the Right when viewing as Blocks.
