Mezamiz @ the Mall
Every 4th Friday Join Ceej Allen & DAP from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM at the Mezamiz Mall of Abilene location every 4th Friday of the month! Prizes awarded that night and weekly. You could win a Mezamiz gift certificate and/or DAP merchandise!!
This event is family friendly. So bring your kids. Bring your friends, and have a blast doodling anything you like. And tell everyone you know! As always, supplies provided. |
Mezamiz Mondays Doodle Night

DAP began a doodling event on Monday nights beginning in March at Mezamiz Coffee House. All ages are welcome to join in the creative fun on sticky notes and a 12"x12" canvas.
Chris Allen will lead doodlers with themes and prompts each week. Supplies are provided. Baristas will be ready to craft your favorite coffee beverage or hot tea! Each Monday a winner will be selected by the baristas and will receive a $10 Mezamiz gift card.
If you're not able to make it on Monday night, you still have a chance to win! Supplies with instructions are available.

14 January 2023 was the opening reception of DAP's premier doodle art exhibit.

Finally! What you have all waited for: The DAP Exhibit!
1117 Studios & Gallery hosted DAP's art exhibit featuring an entire wall of sticky-note doodles--The Tapestry. In January 2023 gallery visitors experienced doodle art like they've never seen before. The Tapestry measured 28' with 720 individual doodles. Each sticky note doodle is 3" x 3" and was been carefully merged into one gigantic piece. There were more than 100 contributors!

Where did all these doodles come from, you ask?
Throughout Summer & Fall of 2022, DAP Doodle Submission Boxes were placed at five local coffee houses. The bulk of these Squared doodles were received in this manner. In July, DAP hosted its first DAP Doodle Art Party @ Majestic Coffee in downtown Abilene. It was a success with clever artists & fun first-timers competing for top prizes in five categories (see further below). Chris also participated in First Friday @ Peoples Plaza in August and caused a whirr of excitement from artists and attendees. Others were simply mailed to DAP--over 250--from as far as the Midwest and New York & even Denmark!!

- Rotatable community doodles on 12" x 12" canvases
- Smaller tapestry of surplus doodles in various ink colors & pencil and on other-colored sticky notes
- Collaborative doodles showing the transformative process
- Imaginative mini doodles
- Surplus doodle submissions on larger paper
- Highly interactive on-site doodling: Doodles done on site joined the exhibit!
Where did all these doodles come from, you ask?

We have photographs of small sections of the tapestry on our website here. The idea is you can zoom in and look for yours and show family & friends or simply zoom in on all sections. So whether you were able to visit the gallery or are browsing from the coziness of home, you can explore the unique pieces.
The Tapestry submissions totaled 900+ sticky-note doodles. You read that right. Chris measured and calculated the number of sections, as he calls them, to fit the main wall for The Tapestry. Because we received so many doodles, we decided to highlight a second smaller tapestry. This included overflow of black ink doodles, doodles on non-yellow stickies, & colorful doodles. You can see one section of this smaller tapestry in the photo above.

Past Events
In January 2023, Chris "Ceej" Allen participated in both First Friday at The People's Plaza & Artwalk in downtown Abilene, Texas. Sharing the news about DAP's premiere gallery exhibit reception was fun for all ages & fruitful for DAP's mission to spread the art of doodles!
DAP was invited to participate in the People's Plaza First Friday for August 2022.
