DISC DOODLING IN THE PARK is a fun event anyone can do anywhere. DAP gathered some folks at Redbud Park in Abilene, Texas, and the inaugural disc doodling was in full swing!
It's pretty simple: Get one or more discs, tape blank paper on the underside, start flinging the discs to one another. One person will yell STOP! Everyone takes one full minute to doodle. This keeps going until you whenever. Amazing art is created!
Other installations included during the exihibit:
  • Rotatable community doodles on 12" x 12" canvases
  • Smaller tapestry of surplus doodles in various ink colors & pencil and on other-colored sticky notes
  • Collaborative doodles showing the transformative process
  • Imaginative mini doodles
  • Surplus doodle submissions on larger paper
  • Highly interactive on-site doodling: Doodles done on site joined the exhibit!
Finally! What everyone waited for:
The DAP Exhibit!
1117 Studios & Gallery hosted DAP's art exhibit featuring an entire wall of sticky-note doodles known as The Tapestry. In January 2023  gallery visitors experienced  doodle art like they've never seen before. The Tapestry measured 28' with 720 individual doodles. Each sticky note doodle is 3" x 3" and was carefully merged into one gigantic piece. There were more than 100 contributors!
These local Abilene, TX, businesses graciously allowed DAP to place a Submission Box for sticky-note collection. DAP thanks them!

In January 2023, Chris "Ceej" Allen participated in First Friday at The Peoples Plaza on S Willis as well as Artwalk in downtown Abilene, Texas. Sharing the news about DAP's premiere gallery exhibit reception was fun for all ages & fruitful for DAP's mission to spread the art of doodles! Chris "Ceej" continues to attend First Fridays and, when weather permits, Abilene Artwalk.
DAP was invited to participate in the People's Plaza First Friday for August 2022.
Fun was had by all!
